BIO

CONTEMPORARY ARTIST

Of East-Indian descent, I was born on the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. At the age of five I moved to North Miami, Florida, with my mother and siblings. Presently I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA with my wife and son.

I recall that I always loved being creative, even as a young boy, and started drawing at age six. Since then, I have explored and created art in many different media and genres, but currently my work is a fusion of multiple cultures and stories from the past that still relate to and resonate with today’s world.  I conduct extensive historical research as a requisite for each of my drawings and paintings before executing the work on canvas or other surface for presentation to the world.

It is of paramount importance for me to tell a story through my artwork based on honest, validated facts, and to depict my innermost visions utilizing these details as well as fantasy. Often I create conceptual creatures that reflect today’s society although these species have never before existed.  These beings have an uncanny connection to the human psyche and psychology of modern man. This approach to “intelligent art” prompts the viewer to find the often-complex story that unfolds on the canvas.

I consider myself to be a hybrid/multimedia artist, having extensive experience in acrylic and oil paints, drawings, computer generated images, and graffiti art.

Formal Education:  BA in Computer Animation, minor in Graphics Design and graduate of the Miami International University.
